Born to a small noble family, loyal to that of his childhood sweetheart and stripped of all titles when her family was ruined by false accusations of treason, Marius is no lord of real power. Though his family rose again to prominence by farming and live comfortably, Marius has no taste for owning land and tending herds.
Though many good marriages have been made available to him, Marius refuses to take a wife, even if it means reclaiming his family's noble standing and proving loyalty to the crown. Under cover of darkness, he takes to the forests of Sherwood, where the treacherous and ever dangerous Robyn Hood and her Merrie Men lay in wait...and by their side, partakes of the old ways, joining their pagan celebrations and bringing supplies as they are needed.
And, under cover of darkness, he reaffirms his love to his warrior queen, his childhood sweetheart, and prays for the day when he will have power enough and proof in his hands to clear her family's good name, and take her as the wife he has always dreamed of.
